What changed in each version. Installed copies offer the newest one by themselves.

0.6.0 2026-10-07

  • Cleanup tidies a dictation before it is typed: as said, clean, a coding prompt or an email, chosen for each key on the new Cleanup page
  • Edit by voice: select text, hold the edit key and say what to change, and the result takes the place of the selection
  • Cleanup and editing use VinPUT Plus or Pro, or a text model on this PC, and do not count against your monthly hours
  • Your own actions: a key that runs a program or script you choose with what you said, under Settings, General, Your actions
  • Settings is easier to read: sections open and close, long lists scroll on their own, and languages are picked from a list you can search
  • Voice memos are recorded at the full quality of your microphone
  • The tray menu and About lead to PUTLAB, where Voutput and other programs are installed

  • Other programs on this PC can show what you dictate as it is typed, if you let them
  • Settings, Advanced, Send typed text to connected programs switches it on; it starts switched off
  • While it is off, nothing you dictate into a window is sent to any program
  • For developers: the local API has a transcript event with the text so far, the mode and a session number, and a final one when the dictation ends

  • Settings has a new page, Words: a dictionary for your names and terms, and snippets that stand for a saved text
  • Say new line, new paragraph, all caps, snake case, camel case or kebab case and it is done; this starts switched on, and Words has the switch
  • Enter ends a dictation, and is pressed once after your last words
  • When VinPUT Pro cannot be reached, a model on this PC carries on and no word is lost
  • Updates are signed: VinPUT installs only an update that comes from its makers

  • With VinPUT Pro, words are typed as you say them, about half a second after each
  • When the last words change as you go on, they are corrected in place
  • Text flows in steadily instead of arriving in bursts
  • Settings, General, Type words as you say them switches this off

  • Signing in to VinPUT Pro needs no code: sign in with Google and the browser brings it back
  • Settings comes to the front by itself once you are signed in

  • It stays above the window you dictate into, also when you switch windows while dictating

  • A dictation left running stops by itself after 30 minutes of silence, never while a key is held
  • Settings, General, Stop after silence sets that time
  • Models says when a model does not know one of your languages
  • When VinPUT Pro carries on with a model on this PC, it picks only one that knows your languages

  • Pressing the dictation key with nothing set up to recognize speech opens Settings at the right page
  • No start click is played when a press cannot dictate
  • After a new install, that press opens the welcome

  • VinPUT Pro, a subscription: text appears while you speak, in more than 60 languages, also mixed in one sentence, with nothing to download
  • 40 hours a month for €6 a month or €59 a year; sign in with Google from Settings
  • Manage the subscription in the app or on the account page of the website
  • A guided setup for your own Google service under Settings, Models, in place of the fields on Advanced
  • Clearer messages when a key or a service is refused; Remove everything on uninstall also signs out
