Voice typing in Notion on Windows

Pages, meeting notes and comments, in the app or the browser.

A Notion workspace fills up with loose text: meeting notes, a project brief, a task description, a comment on someone's page. Writing it all by hand is slow, and it is the kind of text that is easy to say. VinPUT types what you say into the focused field, so it works the same in the Notion app and in a browser tab.

Blocks and the Enter key

In Notion, Enter usually starts a new block. Keep that in mind when you choose a key.

• F1 types what you say and leaves the caret where it is. Use it for a paragraph.
• F2 types, then presses Enter. Use it when each thing you say is its own block: a to-do, a bullet, a heading you will fill in later.

To start a new block yourself, say new line or new paragraph on its own and pause.

Notes while the meeting is fresh

I would not dictate during a call, because the people on it would hear you. Right after, though, one tap and two minutes of talking get the decisions and the follow-ups down. Add the names of colleagues and projects to the dictionary so they come out spelled right, and save your meeting outline as a snippet, up to 1000 characters.

How to

1. Download VinPUT, then choose a model under Settings, Models.
2. Click into the page where the text should go.
3. Tap F1, speak, tap F1 again.

Limits

VinPUT only types text. Slash commands, mentions and page links are yours to do on the keyboard. A Notion app started as administrator blocks typing, because Windows does not allow it.

Questions

Does it work in the Notion app and in the browser?

Yes. VinPUT types into whatever window has focus, so both work.

Does Notion hear my voice?

No. VinPUT recognizes the speech, and Notion only receives the text it types, as if you had used the keyboard.

Which speech model is best for long pages?

Whisper shows your words at each pause, so a long page grows as you speak. Parakeet and Qwen3-ASR type when you stop.
